I’m thrilled and relieved to know that I am not the only deranged blogger on the planet. With all this swine-flu* panic I figured my readers would want to be frightened even more by indulging in graphically-depicted virus epidemic/post-apocalyptic movie-watching. I had hoped to get a list of such said cinematic triumphs up this morning and well, look what the mutated cat dragged in:

Feeling worried about the impending swine flu epidemic? Just to make you feel more panicked, we’ve put together a list of 11 movies that show what happens when humanity is attacked by unstoppable viruses.
Those sly kids at Gawker Media’s sci-fi site, io9 beat me to it and compiled a list of riveting epidemically-plotted movies, which I have linked here. Awesome, they did all my work for me and now I can sit back and use the rest of my day to work on adding to my rubber-band ball and straightening out all my paperclips. Thanks guys!
*Disclaimer: I don’t think the whole swine-flu thing is a laughing matter, however, I do think that we need to keep things in perspective, which is definitely one of Hollywood’s contributions to society–perspective–which is why I refer to films (primarily the blockbusters) often when I have concerns about things like viruses.

It’s TV’s Upfront Season right now, which means that all the networks are revealing their future series/pilots/specials as a way to pre-sell to the advertisers.
I know you are like whatevs, so I’ll get to the main point here.
The Lifetime channel just held their upfront, and unveiled an impressive roster of women’s types of programmings. In addition to the usual suspects of acquired and renewed stuff, they listed a bunch of new stuff, and I’m guessing that due to the very short titles, that they must be working titles, because as we know, Lifetime believes in dramatic and long titles. So, we here at the blog have taken it upon ourselves to do some editing, “Lifetime Style”…
Camping with the In-Laws: an unscripted series that has engaged couples living with their future in-laws.
Proposed new title:
- SHACKING WITH THE RENTS, WHILE SHAGGING IN THE GUEST ROOM
Queens of the Rodeo: a comedy/drama set in the world of the rodeo circuit.
Proposed new title:
- FRONTIER FILLIES AND BUCKING BRONCOS
Deadbeat Dads: Series follows National Child Support Founder Jim Durham as he confronts deadbeat fathers.
Proposed new title:
- WHEN HE COMES A-KNOCKIN’ YOU BETTER GET A-HOCKIN’ YOUR X-BOX
Multiple Mayhem: Docu-soap about families with twins, triplets and more.
Proposed new title:
- HOLY S**T/WTF: WHEN FERTILITY DRUGS GO HAYWIRE
Hahaha, that was fun! You must try it, it’s like a fresh outdoor shower while eating McDonald’s french fries. Wonderful and bad for you at the same time. Send me your suggestions for the shows above or go to this link to see the entire list of shows (scroll down until you come across the Lifetime item).

Green is cool, right Kermit?
Hey kids! I know, it’s been awhile hasn’t it? I was out of town for a five-day seminar on the power of yawning. Good stuff!
Anyway, let’s talk about today’s big holiday, Earth Day! Yes, the one day that we think about our planet. That’s the thing. EVERYDAY should be Earth Day, donchyathink? So, here are some things you can do to be nice to Earth (if you aren’t already):
–Don’t litter, damnit! I have no idea what the stats are, but I can tell you that every 12 seconds that I’m walking the streets (oh, that kind of sounded awkward, but I think you know what I mean) I see a piece of litter. So assuming that my math skills are correct (which is about 50/50), that means that in an hour I come across 300 pieces of litter. UNACCEPTABLE. Use a trash can, despite how beautiful they are to look at, that’s what they are there for.
–Turn off the lights! Trust me, turning off the lights has several advantages. Not only does it save energy, but when your home is messy and you just don’t feel like cleaning, then voila lights off, and now you don’t see any clutter! Being green is so much fun!
–Walk more/use public transportation/buy an eco-friendly car! I know some places don’t have public transportation, but chances are those places aren’t contributing as much pollution as other places. So, for those of you in those places just buy an eco-friendly car. They come in cool colors and have radios too! Those of you that are city-dwellers, ride the bus once in awhile or walk; if your city offers transportation into the downtown area, then do that instead. Be adventurous!………
……..Ok, there are like a million more things you can do, but I don’t really have enough time to list them all. So, click here for a really great and informative website on the latest environmental news and how to get involved in your community.

Ryan from "The O.C." is back on TV, and YES he brought along his highly expressive brow and melt-your-heart eyes
I want to cover some TV stuff, but I’m kind of on a tight schedule today, so we are going to try something different/fun, and sum everything up in six words. (Unfortunately, I can’t take credit for the six word thing, that’s actually quite popular all over the place.)
Fringe…Been watching, been growing on me
Better Off Ted…Hilarious, Portia is enchanting, quirkiness galore
Kings…Ambitious, Ian McShane outshines once again
The Unusuals…Amber shows promise, but that’s it
Southland…Compelling, O.C.’s Ryan continues to captivate
The Office…I heart Michael Scott Paper Company
